Rental Policies
These policies apply to every LIKEM Auto Rental booking and match the terms set out in your signed digital rental agreement.
Eligibility & Drivers
- Valid, unexpired state-issued driver's licence required for every driver.
- Minimum rental age standards apply, typically 21+ or 25+ depending on the vehicle.
- Only drivers listed and verified on the digital rental agreement may operate the vehicle.
Insurance & Deposits
- Active automotive insurance meeting Maryland minimum liability and collision standards is required.
- A refundable security deposit authorisation is required before key handoff.
- The deposit is released after the vehicle is returned and inspected.
Payments & Late Payments
- Major credit and debit cards are processed through secure card portals. Zelle is accepted under specific approval terms.
- Weekly rentals are billed automatically on a recurring weekly schedule.
- Past-due balances incur automated notifications and administrative late fees.
Mileage & Fuel
- Daily and weekly mileage allowances are included, with transparent rates for excess miles.
- Vehicles are supplied fuelled and should be returned at the same fuel level.
Tickets, Tolls & Damage
- Renters are responsible for all tolls, parking fees, traffic citations and related penalties during the rental period.
- Renters are responsible for loss or damage to the vehicle, except where covered by a purchased protection product or their own policy.
- Accidents, theft or vandalism must be reported to LIKEM and the police within 24 hours.
Extensions, Cancellation & Returns
- Extension requests must be submitted online at least 24 hours before the contract expires and are subject to availability.
- Vehicles must be returned to the agreed location at the agreed date and time.
- Late returns are billed at the daily rate plus a late fee for each day or part thereof.
Prohibited Use & Cleaning
- No use for hire, racing, towing, or off paved roadways.
- Smoking is not permitted in any vehicle. Additional cleaning charges may apply.
